There are a myriad of resources available for low-vision and blind children who are learning to read, and low-vision and blind adults who are seeking a variety of reading sources. As an infant and toddler, your child may benefit from a setting with plenty of light, buying or borrowing books that are textured and have pop-up or raised objects, reading books that have rhymes and buttons with sounds that describe images.

This is a website with over 18 million digitized library items. It has an accessible text request service (ATRS) where individuals with visual impairments can request copies of any copyright book in accessible formats.

International Association of Audio Information Services (IAAIS)
Volunteer readers provide immediate access to audio recordings of newspapers, magazines, consumer information and other materials. Anyone who experiences difficulty in accessing printed material is able to become an IAAIS member.
